Black History Month brings an incredible opportunity and responsibility to remember the complex history of African Americans in America. As we continue to pursue unity, love, and understanding though the lens of Black History, we will further understand and better recognize the ongoing implications our collective history has on our present reality. This is not an easy task but it is necessary. As a church we strive to listen to each other, to learn from each other, and grow together.
Our diverse team of elders and staff put together a list of books and resources that helped them come to a better understanding of Black history in America and the responsibility we all have, no matter what our racial background is, to help build a better future for people of color in our community and in our church.
We hope that you will check them out!
